Our Annual Day Trip to the Mountains

Once a year in October we take a Sunday and take a day trip to Hub's Hunting Camp, or as I call it a SHACK. I have never, ever spent the night at this camp.
Yes, this is from back in October, I just realized it was never published:-(

Gettin' work done!!!

...so what does Momma cat do when we have 3 half day of school in a row!!! Well, she started making a list last week of all the "stuff" that needed to be done. Monday afternoon rolled around and as soon as I got home, I did another load of laundry, and then Toulouze and me hopped in the vehicle and had some things to do so we could start crossing off items on the to-do-list. I had to stop by the breeder to pay a bill from hubs getting some (last hope meds) to save a dying puppy. :-( didn't end well), then on to drop off clothes to my former employer, and then to the butcher shop to pick up some venison sausage. When we got home I did another load of laundry, and then washed 3 ceiling fans, and the lighting fixtures. While I was frying sausage to make some supper for Monday eve. Marie and Toulouze raked ALL the leaves and took them up in the woods.  After dark Toulouse, Marie and I folded all the laundry and put it away

Tuesday afternoon rolled around and it was back to getting things crossed off the list... we got things put back in the attic after getting everyone's winter clothes out, and putting summer clothes and short away. Marie cleaned the game closet out and reorganized all the games and put pieces back in the right box (I thought that as old as my children are we wouldn't have that problem) hhmmm guess I was wrong!!! Marie said it took her 5 hours to clean out the game closet. I'm thinking she took a BIG break in there.  Toulouze cleaned out the mudroom and reorganized shoes, and mopped the floor.

Wednesday afternoon, I shampooed all the carpets!! That only gives me more reasons as to why I don't like carpet. All that dirty hiding. Then I had to take Toulouze shopping for clothes, he was in need of jeans and a few dress shirts, and it gave us some one on one time with him.  Which I always look forward to with each of my children. Our 3 afternoon's went by very fast, but I was glad we could get some much needed things crossed off our list. Now, I'll have to start another list for the next vacation. Oh, and before you think that all my children did on their half days off school was work, I did allow them each one day with a friend!!! Berlioz worked all those afternoons, and got extra hours in at work, which made for a happy cat.

The one afternoon, in the mist of getting things accomplished Toulouse and Marie where in a cat fight, I'm pretty sure that Marie would have said something like this!!!

Musings from my kids...

So, as Marie and I spent the best part of the morning yesterday in the kitchen baking. We getting to talking about pretty much anything and everything. Which, is one of the reasons I love spending time with her, you never know what we will start talking about. Marie was saying something about being stuck in time and having to live today everyday, and never get older. I say their are  a few days that I would love to be stuck in sometimes. She's asking what???? As, Berlioz & Toulouse are eating their lunch... I said, "well, I would go back to when my children were all little, and somedays we just didn't have to go anywhere. Everyone, was happy to just stay home, and the boys would play with their trucks, in the sawdust, or wood chips, and we were all together." With that Berlioz pipes up, and says. "Mom, we still play with our trucks." Yeah, Berlioz, you do, your BIG Duramax Truck.
